Team Lead

General Summary

The Team Leader has the primary responsibility of leading by example.  Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness within all departments.  A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills. 

A team leader is an individual with understanding on what makes team members tick and what motivates them to grow and excel.  Work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.  The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage buildings.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• To understand the process within the area and to assign tasks to team members. 
• Ability to communicate with specific directions and procedures to follow in carrying out assigned tasks. 
• Monitor team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with the standards of operations, ethic and safety procedures. 
• Responsible for providing leadership for the team involved. 
• Must be skilled and experienced in the department to guide the team to ensure production efficiency and quality.
• Recognize the contributions of every team member and encourages them to work together in harmony, sharing ideas and maintaining good relationships in the execution of production tasks.
• Ensure completed product meets quality standards before moving to the next area.
• Ensures all workers have proper safety gear and clothing before performing work. 
• Ability to fill in on a job when employee is absence.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company
• Ability to exhibit leadership skills in job knowledge, skills and attendance
• Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times
• 2 years minimum experience being a team lead.
• Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure.

 

Working Conditions

• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and overhead with proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand and walk up to 9 hours per day.
• Wear all required PPE including:  steel toed shoes and safety glasses.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
• Ability to work in high heat conditions.
