The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Building Automation System Specialist II, Facilities Management [R0150734]
ROLE of the POSITION
The Building Automation System Specialist II is a journeyman-level position that, under the general supervision of the department lead (BAS III), repairs, maintains, and operates assigned Building Automation Systems. This role is responsible for maintaining instrumentation and integrating hardware with DDC controls, as well as commissioning, downloading, and verifying DDC programs. All work is focused on meeting customer needs and ensuring systems operate fully and in accordance with specifications. The Specialist II assists and reports to the Lead (BAS III) regarding required parts and tools and ensures all work is performed safely and in accordance with best practices.
In addition, incumbents are responsible for providing technical assistance to solve building automation controls system problems; creating, modifying, and programming server system graphical representation; oversee the work of contractors performing major repairs on or making changes to the building automation system’s equipment network and facility control panel.
The incumbent will oversee campus-wide building automation systems. They may analyze, design, install, program, commission, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize controls for mechanical, HVAC&R, plumbing, lighting, energy management, fire/life safety, security, access control, and ancillary equipment to ensure peak efficiency, occupant comfort, and safety.
