Senior Director IT Engineering

The Senior Director, IT Engineer provides strategic leadership and direction of multi-site, (onshore and offshore) product and engineering teams across a diverse landscape, while fostering an environment which allows for a test and learn culture. This Senior Director of IT Engineering will be responsible for translating vision into technical roadmaps and building or integrating products/platforms that appropriately balance the need for speed-to-market, scalability, and differentiation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management, coaching and corrective actions for direct reports. Collaborate with team members on career development and goal setting.
- Lead engineering and product teams to create robust and reliable solutions that deliver against an ambitious product roadmap for Merchandising and Supply Chain technologies
- Build and lead a team of high caliber engineering teams for Fuel, Merchandising and Supply chain. Enable and drive engineering culture and product mindset. Set a plan and timeline for how Casey’s technology organization can evolve.
- Lead a highly skilled team to transform the Merchandising and Supply Chain technology stacks into a platform that can support a suite of applications and services.
- Enact a strategic plan for developing and empowering team members with processes that result in improvements to code quality, security (OWASP), efficiency, velocity, and systems, and engineering processes.
- Lead the effort to build the right resource plan comprised of a mix of team members, contract, and offshore labor to drive effectiveness and efficiency. Build organizational capability within function by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Set and capture metrics that measure the success of the engineering teams and products.
- Provide technical leadership to organization, including application architecture design, code reviews, release responsibilities, production support, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Starting pay range: $164,900 - $235,600. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance and an annual equity grant in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
Qualifications-
This position requires authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future. - Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems) or equivalent experience is required; advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of demonstrated success leading teams to architect, develop and maintain complex custom build, SaaS and ERP using modern lean/agile product development techniques.
- Must have strong experience in a high availability, high transaction environment.
- Must have strong understanding of modern platform architectures and emerging technologies.
- Must have experience with managing a complex portfolio of products and ability to optimize resource allocation based on platform strategy, product goals and business goals.
- Solid understanding of modern technology framework and be able to coach/mentor teams in modern best practice.
- Leadership experience across technologies related to package solutions, ERP (like Oracle retail), SaaS.
- Understanding of cloud platform and building applications that operate in multiple availability zones and regions.
