Research Associate (RA)/Senior RA, Nanoparticle Formulation and Cell Biology
GenEdit is an early-stage company that is developing a proprietary and novel delivery platform with the potential to transform genetic medicines. Our interdisciplinary team works together across polymer chemistry, payload, formulation, screening, and preclinical groups to develop the next generation of gene therapies and nanomedicines. Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team in Brisbane, CA, and support the development of genetic medicines utilizing GenEdit’s proprietary hydrophilic nanoparticle (HNP) platform. This position will work full-time in our wet labs to support nanoparticle formulation activities including a variety of physical and biological characterization methods. This position will report to a formulation scientist in our product and process development (PPD) team and will be expected to execute at a high level in the lab, keep detailed lab records, learn new analytical techniques, and cooperate efficiently with other technicians and scientists.
Education and Qualifications
•BS or BA in biological sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, nanomedicines, or a related field•Relevant hands-on lab experience, ideally in an industry setting•Lab experience with standard molecular and cell biology techniques including proper handling of nucleic acids, RNA and DNA characterization (UV-Vis spectroscopy, electrophoresis, and quantitative fluorescence assays, e.g., RiboGreen), mammalian cell culture, and aseptic technique•Excellent communication and organizational skills•Ability to efficiently execute standard operating procedures with precise reproducibility•Preferred experience with nanoparticle formulation, nucleic acid encapsulation methods (microfluidics, T-tube mixing), light scattering and zeta potential instruments (DLS, MALS)•Preferred experience with plate readers, flow cytometry, FlowJo, and electronic lab notebook record keeping•Work authorization in the US is required
