The Role at a Glance

The Business Systems Analyst - Treasury Applications role is accountable for supporting production issues, system enhancements, and project initiatives related to Treasury applications, working in close partnership with IT and business operations teams.

 

The Analyst serves as a key stakeholder in understanding the end‑to‑end systematic workflows across multiple Lincoln business segments, providing leadership with real‑time impact assessments during Treasury system outages or service disruptions. They will consult and collaborate with business partners to define and validate more complex technology solutions that align with organizational goals while ensuring stable, reliable production support for Treasury applications across AWS, mainframe, and vendor hosted platforms.

What you'll be doing

Analysis & Requirements

  • Performs in‑depth analysis and consultation on complex assignments and projects within assigned areas.
  • Translates business requirements into detailed technical specifications through effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develops and documents complex technical solution requirements using structured requirements‑gathering methodologies.
  • Conducts advanced technical research and analysis to support business operations and communicates findings to management or project leadership.

Solution Design & Delivery

  • Assesses and supports delivery of complex technical solutions that integrate business rules, processes, and data with technology.
  • Evaluates complex issues, defects, or problems to determine and recommend appropriate technical responses based on impact and priority.
  • Identifies and promotes IT best practices to enhance current processes and solutions.
  • May develop complex test plans and perform testing as needed.
  • May update system tables or configurations to support operational needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Serves as a subject‑matter resource for team members and internal/external partners on complex projects.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to resolve issues or conflicts that impact project time, cost, scope, quality, or risk.
  • Maintains awareness of current and emerging trends; evaluates potential impacts and partners with management to integrate relevant advancements into future solutions.
  • Supports organizational and departmental initiatives by contributing to and positively influencing change management efforts.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership

  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce workload, or enhance quality.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Escalates complex risks, issues, or conflicts to management as appropriate.
  • Shares knowledge and mentors junior team members to support skill development and team effectiveness.
  • Applies a deep understanding of how business units use technology to ensure IT solutions deliver measurable business value.

What we’re looking for

Must-Haves

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (Minimum Required
  • 3 - 5+ Years experience in business systems analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • 1+ year of experience analyzing multiple complex data sources
  • 1+ year of experience documenting data elements, flow, relationships, and dependencies.
  • 1+ year of experience developing and maintaining data models and associated metadata to support forward engineering on the applicable database platform.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with AWS Console and basic scripting concepts
  • Ability to read and follow scripts (SQL, JavaScript, VB) when needed and has experience with reporting tools such as Business Objects (BO) and Crystal Reports (Preferred)
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems: Quantum, Kyriba, Intellimatch, and/or Mavro (Preferred)
