Expert Teams LC & FI – Structuring & Advisory (FO)

The new department consists of four expert teams, whereby the Expert team Large Corporates and Financial Institutions is, from a business perspective, responsible for the redevelopment of credit risk models for the WB Large Corporate and Financial Institutions portfolios. The End-to-End Orchestration will be executed in close cooperation with FO, COO Risk, Integrated Risk and Model Validation.
Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Structuring and Advisory Experts, who will act as FO expert on a specific portfolio and Credit Risk Model. You will have a thorough understanding of the portfolio dynamics, perform comprehensive financial and business analysis and you will be in close alignment with the WB Business.
As FO professional you have 7-10 years of FO or Credit Risk experience and understand holistically the relation between regulatory / economic capital and competitiveness and pricing towards our clients. As FO expert you can advise on risk driver selection and can drive the full business portfolio and optimize RWAs and profitability. You help WB in realizing an RWA light, high profitability business model.
You will anticipate on unforeseen events caused by market circumstances and identifies structural improvements. Together with the team you will orchestrate the development and implementation of the respective Credit Risk Models for the respective portfolio, while safeguarding the wider WB strategy. You will anticipate complex issues across the model life cycle including resolution of internal and ECB Findings and deliver according to regulatory timelines and business requirements.
In your role of Structuring and Advisory Expert Structuring and Advisory Expert, you will:
- Be responsible for portfolio steering based on model outcomes and corresponding RWA, trends in scope, defaults, total outstanding, exposure values.
- Define the business requirements during model development, including risk driver selection and final model acceptance.
- Maintaining a wide range of internal relationships and participating in the improvement plans for various products and sectors of WB.
- Have clear knowledge of the respective Lending Policies including topics like granting criteria, Early Warning Monitoring, UTP Assessment, Forbearance and other credit risk related topics and policies.
- Have a strong senior network within the FO organization to ensure that E2E process improvements regarding our default, scoping and pricing processes can be quickly adopted and embedded within the FO.
- Identify shortcomings in current processes, systems and procedures, and suggest and implement appropriate improvements.
- Write and edit material for various stakeholders in the WB community, focused on training and informing the FO population, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience.
- Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes (e.g., Risk Driver, Scoping and Default data) and identify impact on the business and Model development.
- Update policies, processes, standards and practices that would improve model use, and the interpretations and application in business and Risk Management processes (E.g., model policies, application of credit risk mitigation/substitution approach, guidance on rating transfers and JCOs).

Furthermore, you have:
- Minimum of 9 years’ experience in the Front-Office and/or Credit Risk.
- Strategic business perspective, good knowledge and understanding of WB processes (Front Office and Transactional Risk experience).
- Proven track record of leading successful projects within the Front-office and or Transactional Risk domain.
- Deep understanding of ING’s Credit Risk and Lending IT systems/architecture.
- Proficient in portfolio management, conducting trend analyses, portfolio optimization, and strategic business alignment.
- Understanding and knowledge of credit risk model methodology and key concepts (e.g., PD, EAD, LGD)
- Excellent communicator – ability to take knowledge from experts, make complex simple and convey the message in a convincing way to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and at all levels in the organization up to MBB-1 level.
