The Company
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Systems Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Hardware Systems Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of hardware systems projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge hardware solutions.
Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in driving innovation and continuous improvement in our hardware engineering department. You will be responsible for managing a team of talented engineers, setting clear goals, and providing guidance and support throughout the entire hardware development process. Additionally, you will collaborate with other leaders to define the hardware engineering strategy and ensure alignment with our overall business objectives.
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and/or international)
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Hardware Systems Engineering Manager will lead the systems team to produce all necessary hardware engineering deliverables. This leader will define processes for the Hardware Engineering organization.
- Lead and manage a hardware engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.
- Oversee all aspects of hardware development projects, from concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements and specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hardware design and development processes.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in hardware engineering.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to leverage their expertise and capabilities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of engineering experience in a leadership or managerial role
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing hardware engineering teams.
- Strong technical expertise in hardware system engineering, design and development.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards, protocols, and best practices in hardware system engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement in hardware engineering.
- Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides/ implements process or document improvements.
- Strong understanding of customer, system, and technical requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Previous experience in the mining industry.
- Experience with Reliability Engineering.
- Experience with requirements management concepts.
- Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools.
- Experience with Agile.
