The Senior Director of Compensation will collaborate across the human resource department to build out and manage a variety of compensation programs, policies, and initiatives and will set expectations and priorities to deliver the best employee experience. The leader will handle all elements of our compensation processes, operations, and strategy execution across Nordic Global, by understanding business goals and objectives to identify opportunities where compensation can add value. Additionally, they will develop and maintain our company pay philosophy and policies along with the administration of the merit and incentive compensation cycles.Key Responsibilities
The Senior Director of Compensation will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Lead the Compensation team of 1-2 compensation analysts
- Oversee compensation programs, including providing advice on job design, job grading, pay decisions, pay program design, and ensuring our pay policies comply with changing state and federal laws and regulations
- Lead the annual merit and incentive compensation process
- Proactively partner with internal teams to identify compensation issues and develop solutions that meet business needs and align with Nordic’s vision and pay philosophies
- Direct the job evaluation process using third-party consultants as needed, manage timeliness of market surveys and analysis to ensure timeliness of responses to business
- Partner with HR team to drive projects that would improve/enhance compensation practices and support the long-term business strategy
- Partner with internal teams and third-party consultants to build out policies and processes as we enter new geographies
- Provide oversight of commission and variable pay plans
- Prepare informational materials and facilitate training to assist managers and HR partners in understanding our compensation philosophy and processes
- Oversee compensation data integrity in our HR systems and generate reports to capture data useful in compensation analysis in support of various recommendations
- Provides guidance and assistance regarding compensation trends and analytics, job evaluation, salary administration, compensation systems, programs, policies, and procedures.
- Support Human Resource and Talent teams with organizational changes and M&A activities
Skills and Experience
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 10 + years related human resources compensation administration experience required, global experience a plus
- Post graduate degree strongly preferred
- 5-7 years management experience preferred
- Demonstrated communication skills, written and verbal
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting customer service commitments and project timelines
- Maintains a continuous improvement mindset, consistently looking for ways to deliver a stronger, more efficient employee experience
- Experience utilizing HR, CRM or ATS technologies, (e.g. Workday, NetSuite or similar)
Additional Details
- Position is remote.
- Occasional travel up to 5% of the time
- This role supports employees and leaders across the organization, which requires flexibility as occasional meetings may occur outside of normal business hours
