Role Description: CoStar is seeking a Senior Director, Rent Analytics who will build a team of quantitative modelers and data analytics professionals who will be responsible for building quantitative models and tools to analyze and report on the robust rent data captured within CoStar.  The team will be responsible for data accumulation, modeling and building forecasts to show historical and current rent data and predict future trends.  They will need to build predictive modeling tools that enable customers to maximize revenue potential of their properties.   

 

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers the following schedule options: 

  •  This position is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday.

   

Responsibilities:  

  • Leveraging CoStar data, build models that will enable customers to forecast and maximize revenue potential while analyzing broader market data and forecasts 

  • Build a team of data scientists to support rent modeling efforts and ensure they receive proper training and on-boarding for their success 

  • Leverage extensive expertise in commercial real estate markets to develop new analytical tools that would be accretive to customers 

 

Basic Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College 

  • A track record of commitment to prior employers  

  • 8+ years of experience performing econometric based forecasting and quantitative analysis; or 6+ years of experience and a PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or another quantitative field 

  • 3+ years of experience building models analyzing commercial real estate trends and data 

  • 5+ years leading small team of 2-3 data scientists 

  • Commercial Real Estate domain expertise, including rent analysis 

  • Strong analytical and writing skills, and presentation/public speaking skills 

  • Strong project management skillset 

  • Proven experience with stakeholder management  

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Product teams, IT and leadership  

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • PhD Strongly preferred in Data Science, Statistics or another quantitative field
