What Engineering Program/Project Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Program/Project Management is responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects and/or programs. May manage project and/or program managers within assigned program and/or project. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of project management within the electrode manufacturing business, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Deliver on cost savings initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and implementing strategies to achieve savings.
  • Manage and allocate capital resources to support project requirements and organizational goals. Oversee business management and manage capital appropriation requests.
  • Ensure that the project hopper is up-to-date with current and potential projects, prioritizing them based on strategic importance and feasibility. This includes managing Value Added Task Force (VATF) ideas and dual sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead the ideation process for new projects, conducting feasibility studies and developing project plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and high performance.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to communicate project status, risks, and opportunities, ensuring alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle. Confer with safety, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and address concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist maintenance with securing capital for maintenance of business (MOB) projects and manage timelines.
  • Assists Engineering Assistant Manager in carrying out machine modifications, and improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Anticipated salary range: $114,200 - $163,200
