About the role

The Patient Relations Specialist collaborates with caregivers and hospital departments to provide a service-centered experience for patients and families. The Patient Relations Specialist serves within the department of Patient Experience, Human Resources. The representative role provides support and is accountable for the operational implementation of the ministry-wide Patient Experience goals, initiatives, and programs; ensuring regulatory compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Title XXII, and The Joint Commission. This individual is specialized to act as a liaison to facilitate communication and support all those involved in the patient's care to assist in the process of resolution of patient complaints and assistance in empathetic, non-judgmental, supportive listening to advocate the patient's concerns, needs and rights.

Required Qualifications: 

  • H.S. Diploma or GED plus 2 years experience in Patient Experience, Customer Service.  Preferred area of experience in healthcare field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 1 year of Acute Care Experience, Patient Experience, or Customer Service Experience.
    • Preferred degree field:  Healthcare related.
  • Experience with a Quality Risk Event Incident Reporting System.
  • Experience with an Electronic Medical Record System.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
