The Workday on Workday Enterprise People Solutions product team’s mission is to champion business and customer success through Workday technology. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced people-first, proactive Sr. Delivery Manager to provide the leadership, vision and execution strategy to ensure we build and ship high quality, reliable, secure, scalable solutions that drive business outcomes.

This is a “hands on” people-leader role with the opportunity to build and develop a team of Business Systems Analysts to focus on best in class delivery against our product roadmap.

Own and track key performance metrics, including velocity, burnup rate, and time to respond, analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to address them.

Cultivate and drive product delivery within your team and communicate across organizations. Your leadership promotes positive and constructive relationships with both customers and Workmates. You will bring your fresh ideas and perspectives to support Workday being our first and best customer!

  • Own and track key performance metrics, including velocity, burnup rate, and time to respond.

  • Analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to address them.

  • Monitor Service Level Agreements (SLA) for our systems by developing processes, metrics and projects that ensure high reliability for our customers

  • Align and organize the team to deliver on this technical roadmap, in collaboration with other teams

  • Effective resource management, ensuring work is assigned effectively and timely during sprint cycles and that each development team has the vital resources, tools, and security access to effectively complete their tasks.

  • Proxy Scrum master when needed [retro, stand up, planning, story time]

  • Responsible for the successful completion of sprints, ensuring minimal rollover work and on-time delivery.

  • Clearly articulate trade-offs in process/architecture to meet delivery needs are vetted, communicated and well understood/agreed upon across key partners.

  • Optimize team capacity by assigning tasks efficiently, considering individual strengths and skills.

  • Ensure that the team has a high-level engagement through clear role definition, career growth and skill development opportunities, recognition and feedback.

  • Monitor adherence to agile methodologies and processes, making necessary adjustments as needed.

  • Improve application health and performance through a data-driven approach.

  • Ensure that product delivery is high quality in both architecture design, code quality/standard methodologies. Ensure that we have happy customers.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in software design and development

  • 3+ years building and leading impactful engineering teams.

  • 9+ years working in the engineering organization of a product company using common Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, XP)

Other Qualifications

  • Functional knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll
