F&G is looking to hire for a Principal DevSecOps Engineer
The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will serve as the DevSecOps technical team leader, focusing on high-level strategic understanding, thought leadership, and design decisions. This position will be responsible for interfacing with customers, effectively thinking through how things should be done, and providing technical guidance to the DevSecOps team in implementing industry-leading best practices. The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the future DevSecOps strategy, ensuring the seamless integration of security into the CI/CD pipeline, and guiding the overall design of cloud-native applications and systems. Additionally, this position will assist in determining the go-forward strategy and prioritization of DevSecOps initiatives for the team from a technical perspective.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced solutions to integrate infrastructure and security requirements into the CI/CD pipeline and application environments in Azure.
- Make high-level architectural design decisions and provide expert technical leadership to the DevSecOps team.
- Interface with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable, strategic DevSecOps initiatives.
- Develop and enforce industry-leading best practices for CI/CD pipelines, focusing on automation, security, and system integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-impact issues in the DevSecOps domain, ensuring adherence to service SLAs.
- Align DevSecOps practices with advanced SDLC processes and ITIL principles.
- Mentor and guide junior DevSecOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
- Lead design and code reviews, ensuring alignment with high-level architectural goals and organizational requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to governance and control requirements.
- Document DevSecOps processes and maintain the currency and integrity of DevSecOps platforms.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making strategic recommendations for improvements and innovations.
Experience & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or relevant experience. Advanced degrees are desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in DevSecOps or cloud software delivery, with deep technical expertise in tools like GitHub, Terraform, JFrog, Ansible, and SonarCloud.
- Extensive experience with enterprise-level cloud environments, particularly Azure Cloud, and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing advanced security in cloud environments, and familiarity with high-level security standards like CIS, SOX, and PCI-DSS.
- Extensive experience in programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, and Python.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional technical skills and strategic reasoning.
- Organization, communication, and customer outreach skills are required for this position.
- Deep expertise in the syntax of tools utilized in DevSecOps processes, such as git, bash, PowerShell, HCL, and YAML.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise-level CI/CD tools and version control systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively across various organizational levels and with high-profile customers.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving high-impact issues, with a focus on advanced security and risk management.
- Certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA, Microsoft, DevOps Institute) are highly advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of application build processes and implementing automated testing.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop a team of engineers.
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making strategic recommendations for improvements and innovations.
