The Opportunity at Komodo Health

Komodo serves a wide variety of clients who leverage our expertise in healthcare data and our ability to extract relevant insights from it. As we grow, we continue to invest in powerful internal tools that allow Komodo engineers and Client facing personnel to ask and instantaneously answer complex questions using healthcare data. The internal products will aim to expose advanced features that will only be possible due to the vast breadth of knowledge Komodo Health has about healthcare data.

This role will be a key contributor to the continued development and maintenance of an existing internal-facing SPA analytics product, Genie, while also designing new products to serve internal needs to answer healthcare data questions faster. The engineer will be expected to bridge all technologies from the front-end, to the APIs that power the front-end, and the OLAP data backend, Snowflake together. The engineer will also be expected to work with the relevant Komodo platform teams to enable sustained development of global features that are useful for external products as well as the internal products.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

• Added significant new features to Genie built on React and FastAPI, which are widely used by Komodo employees to answer healthcare data questions
• Collaborated with product managers focused on developing our internal products to identify and develop the roadmap to continue making internal data analysis easier
• Worked alongside Komodo’s other full stack teams to coordinate the development of reusable front-end components in a common monorepo
• Explored how our users use the products and identify UI enhancements (both visual and workflow) that allow improvements in efficiency of development
• Created custom components on frameworks such as Streamlit and Superset that not only power the internal tools, but also will be used by other Komodo products
• Developed new applications and applets that solve Komodo's internal user needs for quick data analysis
• Established good code quality and development practices on the frontend to allow rapid addition of new features

What you bring to Komodo:

• Expertise with SPA and non-SPA  web-app development with React-based frameworks and state management modalities like Redux
• Working knowledge of ES6 & ES7
• General understanding of Python and API design
• Experience working on front-end codebases that have contributions from large numbers of teams, thus enabling sustainable development practices
• Proficiency in fine tuning interfaces to modern design standards and adding accessibility features
• Background in working on complex, highly reactive, and performant SPAs that contain recursive components
• Experience with charting and visualization frameworks 

Compensation at Komodo Health

We are committed to providing competitive compensation for all roles at Komodo Health. We carefully consider multiple factors when determining compensation, including your skills, experience, and location while balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. The targeted base salary range for the Software Engineer, Frontend (Genie) role is $123,900 to $186,300 plus a competitive bonus and equity package.
