COST ACCOUNTANT
LEAR STERLING HEIGHTS

 

As a member of the Lear Sterling Heights team, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis of the plant. Providing reporting and analysis to facilitate critical business decisions based on financial data. Supporting plant operations by providing actionable information on key performance indicators and trends. Communicating with and coordinating plant and division functions that promotes organizational success. The ideal candidate would be a self-starting individual who excels in a fast pace and ever-changing environment. Problem solving ability, accuracy, and follow through are important traits for success in this position.

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year end close process to ensure adherence to the financial statements’ compliance in accordance with US GAAP and SOX
  • Help ensure plant compliance with all company internal controls and drive compliance throughout the organization
  • Maintain records of fixed assets and tooling programs
  • Track and report all capital projects completed in the facility
  • Create and verify the accuracy of month end journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support the semi-annual physical inventory to ensure accuracy of records
  • Assist with adherence to purchasing procedures and supplier discrepancies
  • Assist with customer billings and records
  • Responsible to support various meetings, ad hoc projects and/or requests from plants, division, and corporate
  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller or Plant Manager

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-2 years of Accounting or Finance experience
