We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Sales Manager to grow our Marine Automation Systems business. Key customers are shipyards, shipowners and marine engineering companies in Finland. Typical projects are automation systems to newbuilds and vessel retrofits.
You can be based in some major Valmet location in Finland, such as Vantaa, Raisio or Tampere.
Your responsibilities
- Manage the Marine Automation Systems sales in the region, focusing on IAS systems and other Valmet products. Drive value-adding sales by understanding customer needs and differentiating with Performance Solutions offerings. Collaborate with the Business Unit to develop compelling value propositions.
- Lead direct and indirect sales processes to meet or exceed sales targets. This includes building relationships towards the existing and new customers, securing opportunities to quote, obtaining orders and organizing customer visits.
- Support the Head of Marine in defining and implementing the marine growth strategy, including actionable plans for business strategy execution.
- Conduct market research to identify new marine customers and business opportunities. Stay informed on product launches and competitive landscape.
- Analyze technical IAS enquiries and define scope and sales solutions in collaboration with Business Unit.
- Collaborate with Valmet´s global marine sales network and Service organization to ensure best possibilities for business growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE, legal, and internal Valmet rules and procedures.
Who is the candidate we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, in Automation, Electrical or related area
- +7 years’ experience in Marine Automation Systems sales in the region
- Solid understanding and experience from marine industry
- Some understanding of IAS systems in general
- Ability to implement sales strategies
- Knowledge in Legal process analysis, discussion and contract negotiation.
- Fluent Finnish and English (mandatory). Fluency in Swedish is seen as an advantage.
- Good presentation and negotiation skills.
- Availability to travel up to 50% of your working time mainly in Finland.
