The Field Coordinator position in the College of Social Work is designed to meet the special needs of field education of the undergraduate and graduate social work program. The major function of this position is to develop, maintain and monitor student field placements to ensure their successful completion of this portion of their education. The coordinator works closely with the student, field instructors, and field agencies.

This is a full-time, twelve month position

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience required.

Desired Qualifications

Master's Level Degree with a Major in Social Work. MSW in Social Work and two years of post-masters experience in the field of social work desired. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and writing skills, planning, and organizational skills desired. Prior teaching experience preferred. Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, desired.

Responsibilities

  • Placement of College of Social Work BSSW students: Maintain email and phone contact with affiliated agencies to determine availability of placements and capacity for students.  Use the field database to manage student field forms and placement process.  Meet with students to determine the best placement option for them.  Follow up with students and agencies to ensure a match has been made and documented. Meet with field coordinators to determine student needs and ensure collaboration across BSSW and MSW placements.
  • Research, recruit, and develop new agencies for field placements. Travel to  new agencies for in-person meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist in evaluation of placement process and continuous quality improvement
  • Attend all program and college meetings as required.
  • Serves as back-up to field team members in the College of Social Work and other duties as assigned.

The target hiring range is $51,500 to $67,250 annually.  The actual salary will fall within this range based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and the unit’s available budget.
