About the role

Job Summary:

Provides high-quality nutritional care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Assesses dietary needs based on medical conditions and collaborates with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Education & Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field
  • Preferred: Experience as a clinical dietitian
Licensure & Certification:
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
  • Active NC Board of Dietetics/Nutrition licensure required
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conducts nutrition assessments and physical evaluations.
  2. Participates in clinical rounds to enhance patient care.
  3. Applies evidence-based practices in nutritional planning.
  4. Supports hospital goals by improving patient outcomes.
  5. Educates healthcare teams, patients, and caregivers on nutrition.
  6. Ensures age-appropriate care across patient populations.
  7. Provides specialized nutrition care for transplant patients (if applicable).
  8. Completes timely outpatient documentation and billing (if applicable).
  9. Works to reduce patient no-shows and enhance clinic efficiency.
  10. Follows hospital policies and promotes a collaborative work environment.
  11. Maintains strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to build relationships with staff and patients
  • Basic computer proficiency
Work Environment:
  • Clean, well-lit, moderate noise level
  • May involve stressful situations
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting
  • Occasional bending and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
