Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

The supervisor needs to be highly motivated and organized with the willingness to learn new products and processes. He/she must be fully trained in all aspects of production. The supervisor is responsible to contact maintenance or the plant manager for any work to be performed. He/she is responsible for discipline and job performance reviews. The supervisor must ensure that all employees in their area are complying with all safety requirements.
Monday thru Thursday 2nd Shift 3pm to 1am Overtime as needed
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Analog Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operation of the Analog cook lines.

The supervisor must be able to troubleshoot and be able to process adjustments.

The supervisor is responsible for the training, scheduling, and disciplining of all analog employees.

The supervisor is responsible to see that all paperwork is properly and filled out.
-
The Analog Supervisor communicates regularly with the QC lab to ensure the product is well within specifications.

Adherence to all GMP’s and safety protocols.
-
This position reports to the Plant Manager.

DAY BEFORE PRODUCTION
-
Get schedule from plant manager.
-
Check for correct blend sheets/mix cards.
-
Check for samples (ingredients & packaging).
-
Personnel (schedule).
-
Have warehouse bring our rework if being used.
-
DAY OF PRODUCTION
-
Assign duties to personnel.
-
Make sure oldest lots are used first.
-
Check to see that the correct boxes and labels are being used.
-
Check for correct jet printing.
-
Make sure everyone is doing their jobs correctly.
-
Turn on “Moyno” (cheese pump) speed control in upstairs MCC.
-
Periodically check product quality. Check in with QC Lab.
-
Make on the fly adjustments as needed or contact technical services or management for corrective measures.

MISCELLANEOUS
-
Fill out absent slip / accident reports.
-
Call in personnel as needed.
-
Contact maintenance if work required.
-
Fill out maintenance work orders.
-
Ensure that product is not altered. That includes raw ingredients, Online production and finished packaged product. Anytime repair work in being performed by maintenance or an outside contractor is the supervisor’s responsibility that there is no product contamination. Some examples are debris falling on to food or food contact surfaces, grinding in production and warehousing, tools, supplies, etc. left behind after repair work completed, wood pallets being used in areas where wood piece could get into the product, fumes from engine exhaust or paint, dust from construction or open doors.

Maintain proper oil silo temperature. (F)

Make sure cooler fans are on and working properly.

Pull lactic acid sample upon receiving and get to QC Lab.

Insure proper housekeeping.

Instruct personnel on any additional cleaning required.

Verify the checklists are being followed and not just being signed.
-
Maintain daily logbook of significant events.
-
Ensure all employees in their work areas are complying with all safety requirements, are working in a safe manner, lifting properly, wearing proper PPE’s, using safety chains, using knives properly, etc.

Discipline and review subordinated employees.

Supports WSI ‘great place to work’ initiatives and events.

Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school education or equivalent
-
Forklift license
