Job Description

The Immigration Services team supports large international companies and their employees on visa and immigration requirements. When employing foreign employees in the Netherlands our immigration team advises which permits are required to legally work and reside in the Netherlands. In particular, the Foreign Nationals Employment Act, the Aliens Act and European legislation are used. In addition, our team supports various clients to manage and coordinate their global immigration population.

The immigration team advises internationally oriented companies at corporate level on the design of immigration (global) programs, policy and processes with the aim of gaining control over immigration processes and thus full immigration compliance for all forms of international labor mobility. 

As a senior associate immigration you support our clients in obtaining the necessary visas, work and residence permits for their international employees. You are responsible for various clients where you will work both independently and together with other (junior) associates. Depending on the client this can be related to Netherlands immigration services or the client’s broader global immigration program. In addition, you will be involved in more complex issues and advising clients on a corporate level. You will have the opportunity to build a good relationship with the clients you are responsible for and you will have every opportunity to develop your ideas for the best service. You are also a technical sparring partner on immigration issues for colleagues within the Immigration Services team and the wider organization. Finally you play an important role in onboarding, training and development of the (junior) associates to bring our team to the next level.

All this results in a varied working day in which you make a substantial contribution to the development of our practice. 

Qualifications

You are technically accurate but also enterprising by nature, you are independent but also like to take the team into account. You are customer-oriented and you like to organize things well. You are stress resistant, eager to learn and flexible. 

You also have the following competencies:

• You have approximately 3-5 years of work experience in the immigration field in the service sector
• You have completed a bachelor or Master education (preferably in a legal direction)
• You have excellent knowledge of Dutch immigration law (specifically labor migration) and the ambition to further develop yourself in this area
• You have experience with immigration procedures (both at the IND and the UWV) for employees of large multinationals
• You have experience with coordination of global immigration programs for multinational clients
• You are an expert in organizing and monitoring immigration activities for various (large) customers
• You have the ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• You have experience with the (technical) supervision of (junior) colleagues
• You have a commercial mindset that makes you well able to translate legal issues into practical solutions for the customer
• You have excellent command of both the Dutch and English language in word and writing
• You can handle tight deadlines well and like to manage several tasks at the same time.
• You have an interest in digital upskilling and openness to learning new tools and ways of working
