Description
The School of Nursing at Clemson University invites applicants for a non-tenure track position of Simulation Lab Director-Lecturer. The position is a 9- month appointment plus 3 months of Summer and is predominantly located on the main Clemson University Campus in Edwards Hall with additional responsibilities for simulation activities at a second site of instruction in Greenville, SC. The anticipated start date for this position is March 1st or sooner. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment with comprehensive simulated laboratory experiences that enhance students’ critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities, provide leadership in integration of simulation throughout the undergraduate and graduate academic programs of the school, and promote simulation research activities. This position will also require classroom lecturer responsibilities; minimum of 1 course per semester. This position will also require collaboration on various grants.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Develop and implement simulated clinical learning activities in collaboration with course faculty. Promote, design, and implement faculty development programs in simulation pedagogy. Provide clinical oversight as needed to students in the laboratory setting.
- Research and Scholarship: Support research initiatives among nursing faculty and students, healthcare partners, and other departments within the university.
- Service: Serve as a School of Nursing spokesperson for simulation within the academic community; co-sponsor and coordinate special events for/with community partners
- Administrative: Lead strategic planning with SON Director, Program Coordinators, and faculty to support SON Mission, vision, and goals. Manage the Clinical Learning Center, including fiscal accountability, inventory and procurement of supplies and equipment. Evaluate overall satisfaction with clinical lab learning experiences, as well as with resources, supplies, staff, and faculty.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in Nursing (DNP, PhD)
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
- Eligible for South Carolina RN License
- Experience teaching in higher education and working with diverse student populations
- Evidence of professional recognition for scholarly activities related to simulation pedagogy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in collaborative relationships between practice and academic organizations
- Evidence of successful research and grant writing
- Proficiency with emerging healthcare technologies and information systems
- Experience leading simulation operations consistent with National accreditation standards
- Ability to create and lead a high performing simulation laboratory team
- Experience managing supply/equipment budgets
