Role Summary
As Sr Principal Engineer - Diagnostic Systems, you will take on a pivotal role in the development and optimization of diagnostic solutions integral to our hardware platform development. Focusing on the critical intersection of innovation and precision, your primary responsibility will be to lead our diagnostic system development, meeting and exceeding rigorous standards for functionality, reliability, compliance, and performance.
Role Responsibilities
Product Development
- Lead the design, development, and integration of diagnostic systems for hardware platform development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define diagnostic requirements and specifications
- Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and performance of diagnostic systems, and continually monitor and report on these metrics
- Oversee the design and implementation of diagnostic algorithms and testing procedures, ensuring they are efficient, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Champion innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance diagnostic capabilities and provide a competitive edge in the market.
- Plan for the scalability of diagnostic systems to accommodate growth, ensuring that the systems can handle larger workloads
- Collaborate with HW teams and SW teams
Testing, Validation, and Compliance
- Lead, architect and implement diagnostic strategies for real-time monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware components.
- Develop and maintain diagnostic tools, scripts, and software for system analysis and health assessment
- Continually optimize and fine-tune diagnostic systems to ensure they meet evolving product needs and performance expectations
- Analyze diagnostic data and provide actionable insights to improve hardware performance and reliability
- Regularly conduct internal audits to ensure that diagnostic systems comply with relevant industry and regulatory standards
Innovation and Collaboration
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to diagnostic systems
- Collaborate with team members abroad for diagnostic discussions
- Work closely with software, hardware, and mechanical teams to bridge technical gaps, contribute insights, and facilitate effective communication
Years of Experience
- 12+ years of relevant experience of diagnostic systems and hardware platform development
Required Education
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Required Skills:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing diagnostic systems for complex hardware products
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java)
- Strong knowledge of hardware diagnostics, including familiarity with built-in self-test (BIST) and fault detection mechanisms.
- Proven experience with hardware instrumentation and measurement equipment
- Deep understanding of industry-specific regulatory standards and requirements, such as ISO 26262 for automotive safety, and the ability to ensure diagnostic systems meet these standards
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools to streamline and optimize diagnostic testing processes
