We’re looking for a Staff Engineer (Remote)

We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead initiatives that broadly impact Built In engineering and our partners. In this role you will help to design and implement software solutions in an effort to deliver best in class experiences and capabilities for our customers and users. The ideal candidate is someone who is humble, forward thinking, proactive, and inspires others and communicates clearly in order to continually elevate this already high performing team. 

How you’ll contribute

• Architect robust distributed systems designs that are highly performant and scalable
• Code systems and components that support wide-ranging product lines at Built In
• Document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements and innovations
• Collaborate with Product & Technology teams to build platform services
• Establish strong engineering practices that are adopted across the organization
• Manage the end-to-end development of software products, analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by implementing effective solutions
• Mentor other engineers to reinforce a culture of learning and teaching

What you need

• Experience integrating AI into new or existing systems. Agentic work flow experience is a plus
• 10+ years development experience in .Net on building highly scalable systems (Web and/or backend)
• Expertise developing software on public cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong proficiency in diverse front-end development frameworks, including Vue, React, or Razor
• Skilled in an engineering environment that embraces agile methodologies, observability, and continuous delivery.
• A proactive mindset and initiative, as you'll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality and efficiency
• A proven track record of success in large-scale projects

Our base salary range for this role is targeted at $160,000 to $180,000 per year. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, qualifications, experience and work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
