THE DEPARTMENT:
Outreach, Recruitment and Educational Partnerships (OREP) is responsible for outreach and recruitment of prospective domestic undergraduate students and plays a key role in enrollment planning and reporting. OREP is charged with promoting the image of the University, its programs, and uniqueness; Attracting and recruiting a broad and academically qualified pool of applicants representing varied academic interests, experiences, and backgrounds.; developing relationships and collaborations with campus external and internal constituents; and, providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive services to students and the campus through point of inquiry and enrollment. OREP is responsible for compliance with federal, state, CSU system, and University requirements; and for the timely and accurate dissemination of information to students, parents, campus constituents, the CSU Chancellor's Office, and the external community. OREP provides dedicated quality outreach and recruitment programs and strategic communication to prospective students, schools, and community organizations, and the delivery of student services that support recruitment, college readiness, and persistence. Programs include domestic undergraduate outreach, out-of-state recruitment, and campus tour programs. OREP reports to the Presidential Associate for Community & Campus Partnerships & Student Experience in the Office of the President.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach and Recruitment for Educational Access Initiatives –
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver outreach and recruitment programming connected to grant-funded educational access initiatives and college readiness programs.
- Conduct outreach to high schools, community colleges, and community-based organizations to support awareness of educational access programs.
- Design and facilitate workshops and information sessions focused on college access, admissions pathways, financial aid, and student success.
- Collaborate with campus communication and outreach staff to develop marketing materials, recruitment messaging, and strategic communication efforts that promote educational access initiatives.
- Engage families and community stakeholders through outreach activities that support informed college-going decision-making.
- Represent the University at outreach events, campus visits, and community programs related to educational access initiatives.
Pipeline Programs, Pre-College Engagement, and RISE (ASAP-supported) Coordination –
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of the grant-supported branch of the Residential Intensive Summer Education (RISE) program in accordance with CSU systemwide grant requirements
- Support recruitment, participant engagement, and communication strategies for RISE in collaboration with program leadership and campus partners.
- Coordinate logistics and programmatic elements associated with pre-college and early access initiatives, including workshops, campus visits, and cohort-based programming.
- Collaborate with academic units, cultural centers, and student success programs to ensure pipeline initiatives align with institutional student success, retention, and college access goals.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and co-curricular experiences that foster college-going identity, leadership development, and student belonging.
Grant Coordination, Assessment, and Reporting –
- Track participation, engagement, and outcomes for grant-funded outreach, recruitment, and pipeline initiatives.
- Assist with the development and use of assessment tools to evaluate program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement.
- Prepare data summaries, reports, and narrative contributions for internal leadership, CSU systemwide reporting, and grant requirements.
- Ensure program activities remain aligned with CSU systemwide grant objectives, funding requirements, and applicable nondiscrimination guidelines.
- Support sustainability planning by documenting effective practices and outcomes related to educational access initiatives.
General Responsibilities and Compliance –
- Collaborate with campus partners to support coordinated educational access and outreach efforts.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends to support outreach events, programs, and recruitment activities.
