The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $124,500 to $182,600 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will Do In This Role
Principal Engineering:
- Lead a team of principal engineers on day-to-day tasks such as:
- Support system design reviews at the pre-flight stage and during the award status
- Engage in PLC emulation reviews to ensure product complies with standards developed
- Provide expertise on system level drawings to ensure the Controls engineering team is fulfilling all technical and regulatory requirements
- Develop lessons learned from project sites to update standards and deploy those lessons learned within new projects
- Lead a team of engineers who are experts in safety and compliance.Ā Ensure products and teams understand the latest safety and regulatory requirements and how to engage that within our product solutions
- Lead a team of engineers on VAVE / cost save initiatives.Ā Drive improvements to designs with improved efficiency and technology, but also cost save ideas
- Hold monthly (as needed) workshops with out PLC code engineers.Ā Understand controlled and variable parameters and how to deploy those messages to site.
- Provide a high level of expertise to projects ā Technical support, problem resolution, leadership and technical integration
- Technical training to both new team members within the Principal team, but also within the project teams
- Engage with other business units (Amazon, East, West) to identify common design solutions, lessons learned and ideas to deploy cross-functionally to projects
- Provide technical support and guidance to solutions development (cost estimating) team on new specifications and product requirements
Project Execution
- Ensure all team members have the tools and training to perform required tasks in all work locations safely. Promote safety culture across organization with a focus on zero incidents and 100% compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and achievement of performance KPIs for quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Proactively clear roadblocks to KPI target attainment for project teams.
- Foster a culture of compliance through open communication and by empowering all team members to raise potential compliance concerns through the available channels.
- Manage project execution risk through validation of project inputs (as-sold project documentation and the project schedule), effective project staffing strategies and comprehensive adherence to standard work and quality processes.
- Participate in pre-sale technical reviews with Sales & Solution Development. Review for technical and costing accuracy.

- Ownership of short-term monthly forecast across assigned projects independent of resource reporting.
- Manage costs throughout the month at the project level and take action as necessary. Communicate unplanned events to the Project Manager and engineering lead
