Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector communications team is seeking a Sr. Principal Communications Representative to join our team in implementing dynamic communications practices, including strategic planning, digital communications, employee and executive communications and special events. This highly skilled communications professional will work as a strategic advisor to the E-2D program within the Global Surveillance division while also supporting the execution of the division’s communications strategy. The candidate will lead all internal and external communications for E-2D domestic and international efforts and have experience with objectives-based storytelling, developing messaging and content as well as creating and executing strategic communications plan that deliver measurable results.

The full-time position is based in Melbourne, Florida, and reports to the Global Surveillance Division communications manager. Candidate is expected to be on site full time.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in developing strategic communications plans as well as the coordination, development and/or execution of content creation for scripts, digital, print, multimedia and other collateral. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Executive Communications. Support executive leaders with employee engagement and communicate business objectives and strategy that drive engagement and retention. Develop messaging and content aligned with business needs, and a plan to maximize engagement throughout the year across diverse work locations. Identify and prepare subject matter experts and leaders to serve as company spokespeople.
  • Channel Strategy and Innovative, Targeted Approaches. Implement a variety of channels to reach targeted key audiences including unclassified, restricted and touch labor across the United States (includes oral, digital, written and multimedia).
  • Compelling Storytelling. Identify successful teams to amplify how they embody our culture, technological innovation and pioneering spirit.
  • Enterprise Approach. Collaborate across functions and sectors to ensure regular exchange of information to support consistent messaging, share communications practices and support enterprise events. Manage alignment of communications planning and execution for corporate and sector initiatives with measurable objectives. Drive communications processes and operations internally and externally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree in listed areas and 6 years of experience

  • Experience building communications campaigns and executing to completion

  • Experience as a communications advisor and leader

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement, problem solving and organizational skills, and superb attention to detail

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Defense security clearance at the Secret level

  • Proficient in Associated Press Style

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
