Description:
This position is responsible for safely and properly operating the Auto Palletizer and all equipment associated with the process.
The selected candidate will receive two weeks of initial training, followed by two weeks of hands-on operations.
The role involves safely moving, stacking, rotating, staging, and loading products while maintaining a safe and clean work environment and adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures.
Tasks:
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including the use of proper PPE.
- Equipment Operation: Adequately operate all equipment within the palletizing room.
- Professional Interaction: Maintain respectful interactions daily with everyone.
- Certification: Obtain and maintain certification to safely operate all equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.).
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean work environment inside and outside designated areas.
- Self-motivation: Work with initiative and minimal supervision.
- Product Manifesting: Accurately manifest palletized products with label information.
- Product Rotation: Ensure proper product rotation and packaging integrity.
- Inspection: Inspect product/packaging to meet integrity and customer requirements.
- Coordination: Coordinate with the lead or supervisor to stage, rotate, and load pallets.
- Inventory Management: Inventory all products in the -10 freezer and maintain cleanliness.
- Reporting: Report activities to management as needed or requested.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with USDA, SSOPs, GMPs, and HAACP.
- EIM/SAP Functions: Perform all EIM/SAP functions within the shipping and palletizing department.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned by the lead, supervisor, or management.
Stressors:
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing.
- Climbing, bending, stooping, and squatting.
- Frequently walking on hard and uneven surfaces for up to 10+ hours per day.
- Frequent push/pull with moderate to light force with both hands.
- Working in extreme cold environments of -10 degrees or less.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 80 lbs.
Requirements:
- Willingness to obtain and maintain Tyson certification for equipment operation.
- Excellent safety record.
- Good communication skills; and bilingual skills are a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including understanding programs like SAP and data entry.
- Ability to operate scanners for data entry.
- Good organizational skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including different shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
