Duties

  • Lead, plan and conduct high-level investigations into forest practices non-compliance, including gathering and analysing evidence in accordance with legal and procedural requirements.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports to support regulatory enforcement actions, including prosecution briefs.
  • Monitor and assess compliance trends and identify high-risk areas or matters and proactively develop strategies to address non-compliance.
  • Work closely with other FPA programs as well as forest practices officers and external stakeholders to improve compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of investigative procedures and policies to enhance regulatory enforcements capabilities.
  • Provide advice and training on forest practices regulation to forest practices officers and other relevant parties.
  • Other duties as directed by Manager Operations.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in a government regulatory agency or qualifications in environmental science, regulatory compliance or a related field.
  • High level knowledge and understanding of principles of sustainable forest management and investigation procedures.
  • Current driver’s licence.
