POSITION PURPOSE:

The MEP intern works in a collaborative team environment under the supervision of staff engineers. The Intern performs routine engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles to complete project requirements and assignments.

They are assigned specific tasks on a project, and are expected to use their education, intelligence, questioning attitude, and critical thinking to perform certain job responsibilities. The Intern will learn the different aspects of a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) project and learn how to complete the different tasks associated with their field. Work will entail a combination of the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drafting help for the MEP engineers.
  • Perform design calculations, interpreting HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping codes
  • Drafting assistance of engineering drawings
  • Participate in site visits, as required
  • Research and identify governing criteria, codes, guides, and best practices
  • Work under the supervision of designers, engineers and other team members.
  • Any other assigned duties
  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate degree is required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad 2024. If possible, also Revit 2024.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
  • English language speaking.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

  • Potential to be around construction equipment when visiting job sites, be able to handle loud noises.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment.
