LocationThis role can work remotely from anywhere in the USA. You must be legally authorized to work in the US.  Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.  
What Will You Do?We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our growing team of experts to work on a high impact consulting project that will impact people across the United States. The hire will be able to translate the business needs of a federal agency into data architecture and metadata standards, and enforce those standards, aligning with IT and data governance policies. The Data Governance Analyst will work under a Data Architect to envision data assets according to high-level designs and business requirements. They must be pro-active and self-directed. Meticulous attention to detail, as well as the ability to understand abstract concepts, is essential to perform well in this role. The right candidate will be excited to positively impact millions of Americans by infusing their knowledge into the federal government’s data processes.  
Important Note:This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical documentation and analysis integral to the development of a strategic data governance roadmap and operations plan in alignment with project and business objectives.
  • Reporting on findings and recommendations with clarity, accuracy, and coherence.
  • Execute the analytics data architecture strategy that aligns with agency goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the analytics team to maintain data quality and compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of analytics data architecture, data models, and integration processes.
  • Document data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition.
  • Maintain complex data models, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and performance.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Write code to flag issues with data standards, quality, and consistency.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and make recommendations for adoption to enhance data architecture.
  • Solution with Bixal’s team of practice area leads and business development experts to envision new opportunities for data modernization in the federal space. 

Qualifications

  • Ability to undergo a background investigation by the U.S. Government and meet eligibility requirements for suitability.
  • Adept at conducting research and preparing documentation on user journeys, use cases, and technical standards.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
  • Experience with low-code and no-code solutions for reporting and visualization of project tracking, program performance, and metrics.
  • Working knowledge of data integration tools (ex. erwin, Alation, Collibra) and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and communication skills, ensuring successful collaboration with a diverse range of project stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and meetings to drive understanding, alignment and progress.
  • Experience working on Agile teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role, or a commensurate combination of education and experience
