Job Description

Better supporting franchise and multi-entity businesses is a key part of Square’s plans to move upmarket and win vs. competitors. To solve this need, Square has recently acquired GoParrot, an all-in-one solution that allows franchisors to manage their franchisees with centralized reporting, loyalty and gift card orchestration, and menu management.  It’s a super exciting time to join this team as we are working to integrate the GoParrot solution more seamlessly into the Square ecosystem and expand our customer base beyond the food and drink industries!

As a Frontend Software Engineer on the GoParrot Organization Management team, you will: 

• Develop new user-facing features
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers 
• Be part of a small feature-based development team
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Stay up-to-date with FE technologies and best practices
• Write unit and integration tests

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with frontend technologies including JavaScript/TypeScript, experience with libraries and frameworks, such as ReactJS
• 5+ years of experience with web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
• Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, ESbuild, Vite 
• Knowledge and experience of writing tests (Jest or any other framework)
• Ability to understand and apply software development design principles (SOLID, DRY) in your day to day work

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $202,500 - USD $247,500
Zone B: USD $192,400 - USD $235,200
Zone C: USD $182,300 - USD $222,800
Zone D: USD $172,200 - USD $210,400

This role is also eligible to participate in Block's equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
