Assistant Terminal Project Engineer - Grain LNG, Isle of Grain, Kent
As an Assistant Terminal Project Engineer, you'll provide vital support to the Project Delivery Managers to ensure the effective administration of project work packages. The role brings technical oversight to the coordination of processes and design engineering, to ensure efficient project delivery. The focus of the role will be work-package specific.
You'll join an expanding terminal, which is of strategic national importance to UK energy infrastructure and security of supply. We're the largest Liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Europe and eighth largest in the world by tank capacity with a site that spans over 600 acres in total.
Key accountabilities
- Focal point for technical issues/coordination between Grain LNG, EPC contractors and sub-contractors for area of responsibility.
- Actively support safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
- Understand contractual requirements and communicate to team.
- Manage resource levels and coordinate engineering subcontractors.
- Coordinate purchase requisitions and monitor suppliers’ compliance with purchase order conditions.
- Assist with project closeout.
About you
- Strong experience of successful complex project delivery and project team leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
- Track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively.
- Accomplished in Contract management within fixed price and target cost contracts.
- Accomplished understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
- Accomplished understanding and experience in Quality assurance.
- Accomplished knowledge and application of CDM Regulations.
- Educated to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Member of professional institution, e.g., IMechE or IChemE is desirable.

- A competitive salary of £45,000 to £50,000 - dependent on capability.
