As a Staff Product Manager of Brightcove Architecture and API, you will be driving product development in and for a truly global environment. You will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of platform architecture and API design which will service our OVP/OTT industry tools and solutions. While collaborating with all parts of the organization as well as with our customers and partners to iron out requirements and strategies for your specific product area. On a daily basis, you will work closely with several highly skilled development teams. In this role you will have to rely heavily on your ability to communicate and to drive collaborative analysis.
Responsibilities
The Technical, Staff level Product Manager is expected to understand the market, the customer and the business in order to make sound decisions on product features, priorities, and backlog - working closely with engineering, program management, and stakeholders from the field organization, marketing and definitional customers.
- Translate product vision, strategy and roadmap into product definition that can be communicated to engineering, QA and customer-facing functions.
- Specify technical requirements for Brightcove Video Cloud system architecture and framework of shared video services; work with other technical product managers and engineering leads to plan and prioritize the system architecture roadmap.
- Ability to take technical details and present them in a non-technical, value driven format.
- Regularly engaging and enabling a developer community across customers, services, partners and internal stakeholders (Including system administrators, customer care, end users, operations management, etc). Translate requirements into clear epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Manage the feature request process, agile sprint planning / grooming and keep an updated release plan for the products you cover.
- Work closely with product management, engineering leads and architects to ensure a deep understanding of product vision, priorities and roadmaps that translate into successful release of cross platform initiatives.
- Spearhead the continuous health of the platform including security, reliability and scalability.
- Develop and track strategies to understand the platform usage, performance and adoption. Work with the broader product organization to identify and report on the success of a feature release.
- Lead clean, high-quality solutions with automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, multi-environment/multi-region deployed, and well thought out devops tooling.
- Represent Product Management in architectural decision-making for web-based applications, API-driven video and application capabilities, and integrated SaaS-delivered solutions.
- Oversee technical aspects of large enterprise level projects and applications.
- Provide guidance to multiple product and engineering teams to ensure communication channels are flowing within, and across, organizational boundaries.
- Coach, inspire and motivate other product managers to do their best work.
- Evangelize the product lines using pitch decks, demos, and customer feedback
- Detail the buyers/users for key enterprise use cases and work with the design team to create delightful products.
