About the role
Job Summary
The OPS Women's Soccer Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in managing all aspects of the FGCU Women’s Soccer program. This role involves assisting with practices, games, public appearances, and various athletic department functions. Additional responsibilities include contributing to team travel planning, fundraising efforts, and overall game day operations. The position requires strict adherence to the policies and regulations of Florida Gulf Coast University, the ASUN Conference, and the NCAA.Job Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversees practices, games, appearances, fundraisers and game day activities.
- Assist with any and all administrative facets of running the program, to include, team travel, expense reports, team reimbursements and team logistics.
- Assist the Serve as liaison to the marketing department with the promotion of games.
- Model exemplary behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards student-athletes, staff, officials, and spectators.
- Perform any other related duties such as community service and campus service events taken on by the Women’s soccer program.
Other Duties:
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- This position requires either four years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of and proficiency in safety protocols specific to the sport of women’s soccer.
- Posses leadership, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- In-depth understanding of both individual and team strategies, formations, and systems of play at a high level of competition.
- Knowledge of how to develop athletes.
- Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
- Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
- Present a professional image in word, action and attire.
