DOVE New & Returning Student Worker 2026-2027

About the role

JOB SUMMARY

Work studies are the connection between the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) and the student population at Seton Hall. They are responsible for coordinating weekly programs through DOVE, as well as completing in-office work that will foster our programs and our relationship with outside agencies and our Catholic mission.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take on the role as program coordinator for at least two weekly programs. The student must serve as a leader, supervising student groups of 5-20 volunteers alongside DOVE’s community partners
  • Lead reflection after service programs
  • Be present for mandatory workdays and scheduled office hours in addition to the scheduled weekly programs
  • Represent DOVE at a variety of community service sites & attend open houses/promotional events on behalf of the DOVE office
  • Be a welcoming presence to all office visitors, answer office phones, take messages, send emails to volunteers
  • Keep office clean and organized, move & sort donations as needed
  • Post publicity for upcoming events and be attentive regarding all DOVE PR (the Setonian, flyers, broadcast emails, etc.)
  • Recruit students for volunteer programs
  • Be involved in the planning of some of DOVE's larger scale events

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

** FEDERAL WORK STUDY (FWS) ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED**

This position is only available to undergraduate students at Seton Hall University who are federal work study eligible.

A professional attitude, good written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, ability to stay self-motivated, and leadership skills to supervise peers are required.

Competency in Microsoft Office Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.

Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

Experience with community outreach and volunteerism.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to drive volunteers in 12-passenger van as needed, not a requirement to apply.
