Job Description
The Biofabrication division within the 3D Technologies group at our company is looking for a senior scientist who is passionate about developing complex in vitro models for drug discovery and development. Our wet lab facilities provide an exceptional platform for hands-on experimentation and innovation, and our team of experts is committed to making significant contributions to the field of biofabrication.
In this role, the senior scientist will work independently on multiple projects using advanced skills in biological systems, in vitro modelling, and biofabrication. We foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where the scientist will have the opportunity to work alongside world-class researchers and contribute directly to the latest advancement in Microphysiological systems models development.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize advanced bioprinting and other 3D platforms to fabricate Microphysiological systems (MPS) models for drug discovery and development.
Apply experience, analysis, and creative thinking to solve new, cutting-edge problems in biofabrication.
Work independently with minimal supervision to execute R&D projects.
Develop and/or standardize biofabrication protocols to support successful transition to product development and production.
Collaborate across different functional teams/locations and external partners, to ensure successful completion of necessary projects.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical/ Biochemical/ Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum 5 years of relevant lab experience in biomaterials and/or mammalian cell culture is preferred.
Proven ability to work independently and collaborate in a strong interdisciplinary team environment.
Proven ability to analyze biological statistics, draw conclusions and clearly report results and suggested next steps.
Demonstrates broad knowledge in the fields of tissue engineering and 3D biofabrication.
Ability to write business correspondence, reports, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in microphysiological in-vitro translation modeling is preferred.
Experience in pharmaceutical drug development is preferred.
Master's degree with four years or Ph.D preferred.
