Summary
Under supervision performs responsible clerical and cashier work. Considerable training within the division is required, as this position must assist, as directed, with various functions of other work areas. Responsibility for monetary assets exceeds that which is normally expected of most clerical jobs, and additional knowledge of higher classifications position is necessary to assume such responsibility during vacations, etc.

What You'll Do
- Prepares accurate Cash Book data reports to meet required daily schedule, also correspondence, record charts, and maintains bookkeeping of Treasury receipts, and sundry financial input.
- Initiates daily transfers and miscellaneous deposits for the Revenue Receipt and Treasury divisions, and prepares check requests for fund transfers.
- Writes checks on banks other than First National and Valley National, for cash transfers within the Electric Revenue Fund.
- Sorts, logs and distributes incoming general mail, and assists with the processing and recording of returned check items. Monthly report to Gen. Acc.
- Assumes the responsibility for maintenance of certain division and section files, and the identification and disposition of Treasury remittances.
- Acts as relief cashier, alternate financial messenger, and assists, as directed, with directed, with disposition of checks on statements of disbursement, Data Processing machine runs, and Minor Allowance drafts, Armorer Car Procedures.
- Operates typewriter, adding machine, can cash register, requiring more than average skill due to type of transactions involved.
- Answers telephone call board, transmits messages, replies to questions.
- Assumes responsibilities of higher classifications during vacations, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
What It Takes To Succeed
Must be well organized in order to meet established schedules, with ability to use reason, logic and tact in relationship with public and other employees. Good telephone approach and manners desirable. Sufficient aptitude for mastery of this position.
Experience
Person with standard clerical training, (knowledge of office equipment essential) some bookkeeping and cashiering desired) or equivalent.
Testing and Certifications
Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.For specific list of training certifications contact departmental manager.
