The Head of the Regional America Sourcing Team in Sourcing Life Science - Science & Lab Solutions is accountable for managing the third party spend of all the materials that fall under the Science & Lab Solutions portfolio in America. It comprises a portfolio in the categories Biologics, Chemicals, Filtration & Resale and Highly Regulated Raw Materials. These materials are used for sale and/or in the production of numerous semi-finished and finished goods for mainly the Science & Lab Solutions Business. Spend is managed according to the Sourcing Strategy as closely aligned with categories and stakeholders. The Head of America Regional Sourcing Team works within the Sourcing Science & Lab Solutions Team in the Sourcing Life Science organization and manages a team located in the US. This position reports directly into the Head of Sourcing Science & Lab Solutions in Sourcing Life Science.

 

Who You Are:

• Develop and drive strategic sourcing initiatives in close alignment with the sourcing categories and business counterparts and deliver value across all sourcing value drivers, i.e., Financial Contribution, Supply Security, and Sustainability
• Manage Business Partnering relationships with relevant stakeholders in the region ensuring permanent business alignment and support to the achievement of the business objectives
• Manage and support supplier relationships according to group wide processes
• Manage category specific procurement process and execute group wide processes
• Manage individual contributors including recruitment and training of staff
• Build category, regional and business relevant knowledge
• As part of the Sourcing LS organization, contribute to the achievement of overall objectives and lead/participate in cross-regional, cross-category and cross functional initiatives

 

ISCO internal candidates preferred. Position can be based in St. Louis, MO, Milwaukee, WI or Burlington, MA.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, new product development, technical services, product management or related field
• Experience in a life science or pharmaceutical industry
• Leadership skills with experience in leading international/remote teams
• Strong negotiation skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree, an advanced degree is strongly preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to interact with senior counterparts, internally and externally
• Strong strategic thinking skills
• Execution skills - ability to secure decisions internally and externally and drive implementation
• Strong functional & intercultural collaboration skills and ability to influence decisions
• Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally
