IT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
The IT Business Operations Director is accountable for managing the overall operations of the IT organization including but not limited to financial, resource and vendor management. This position directs the tracking, forecasting, reporting and communication of each item. This position ensures meaningful, accurate reporting is regularly provided and analyzes the available data to determine what if any actions are necessary to remain within financial foundations. The Director is responsible for establishing efficient processes for each area of operations, developing the appropriate team, and providing ongoing vision and management of the group. The IT Business Operations Director ensures we continually optimize our software, contractor and resource spend and ensures an efficient business process is implemented and followed to govern ongoing spend. The IT Business Operations Director provides expertise in software implementation return on investment and product adoption analysis and assists our business partners and finance team to complete an analysis on our largest technology investments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Provide leadership, developing and managing the team and capabilities to provide IT financial oversight for the RSM IT organization. This capability includes ensuring efficient processes are in place to govern technology investments including product and project budgets and resource requests including full time employees and contractors. Provide oversight into governance and audit methods. Direct and oversee financial and resource forecasts. Ensure proper and timely reporting and escalations occur when financials are over budget.
2. Provide leadership, developing and managing the team and capabilities to provide IT vendor management for the RSM IT organization. This capability includes Management of IT asset inventories. Implement and utilize the appropriate tools and methodologies with respect to IT asset inventory and procurement by users. Perform internal audits to ensure compliance and standards are being met. Ensure accurate reporting and savings opportunities for true ups, renewals, licensing, and additional services. Provide leadership with overall vendor rating structure to ensure continuous vendor performance. Ensure team identifies and works with underperforming vendors to ensure minimum performance standards are met.
3. Lead the team and processes that maintain and track key metrics that measure how IT is performing from a fiscal and resource perspective. Recommend and optimize metric gathering and provide insights and action recommendations to leadership. Ensure that all approval processes are followed and tracked. Provide meaningful leadership reporting regarding the performance of the IT organization.
4. Support IT leadership in the understanding of resource and financial capacity to achieve desired work. Establish efficient processes to monitor the current financial and resource state and collaborate with the team to ensure any metrics that are out of line are brought back in line. Ensure accuracy of reporting and ensure leadership reporting is provided within all deadlines
5. Lead technology return on investment and product adoption reporting activities. Establish best practices, provide guidance and support to complete largest ROI and product adoption reporting.
6. Contribute to the mission of the IT organization
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Accounting, Finance, or related business concentration
- Or equivalent experience
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
- Strong understanding of Information Technology environment
- Strong understanding of contract terminology and software licensing strategies
- Experience in vendor relationship management
- Experience with quality metric development, managing financial budgets and resource management
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
