Position Overview: 

The Staff Accountant – Finance Shared Services is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial support across a variety of accounting functions within Brunswick Boat Group’s Finance Shared Services. This includes activities related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Credit, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Travel & Expense, Financial Close, and Governance. The role also supports reporting sales metrics to Brunswick’s senior leadership. 

This position requires cross-functional collaboration and interaction with multiple levels of the organization to ensure the integrity of financial transactions and reporting.

Essential Functions:  

  • Perform monthly closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external deadlines. 

  • Process intercompany transactions and reconcile balances with domestic and global partners; investigate and resolve variances. 

  • Conduct variance analysis and prepare ad hoc reports for management. 

  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and generate financial reports. 

  • Serve as backup for Accounts Receivable, including managing deposits, posting cash, processing miscellaneous invoices, and refunding credit balances. 

  • Provide support across Finance Shared Services functions. 

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. 

  • Assist with internal SOX compliance activities, including documentation, monitoring, and oversight. 

  • Support internal and external audits by compiling and reviewing data and responding to inquiries. 

  • Provide training and support to divisions as needed. 

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required  

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in accounting required 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
