Purchasing Associate - entry level - hourly

Position: Purchasing Associate

Location: Tulsa, OK

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Compensation: This will be an hourly position through the training phase.  Range of $19-22 per hour, depending on prior experience.

Position Summary: Purchasing Associates will buy materials for Spectrum Paint to be distributed and sold throughout our 115+ locations. This role will be entry-level and will grow with the position.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with store managers to maintain and control inventory levels
• Evaluate usage and forecast of products and materials
• Evaluate products to determine if they align with company standards
• Analyze market and delivery conditions with suppliers to determine present and future material availability, and ensure on-time delivery
• Work with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts and other available discounts
• Build strong working relationships with vendors
• Ensure that purchasing documents are complete and accurate

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Able to communicate effectively
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Experience in executing purchase orders
• Commitment to ethical behavior and willingness to adhere to company policies
