Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage – and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services – Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties – Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa – across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA+ support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION

This full-time position has an annual salary range of $74,000 to $82,000 depending on experience.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Independent Living Program provides every eligible youth in care with independent living skills training to assist in the transition to a successful and independent lifestyle. ILP services are currently delivered to youth ages 14-21 by Side by Side and partnered with Alameda County Social Services.

There is an option for this position to become hybrid based on an on-going demonstration of autonomy and continuously meeting program deliverables.

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager provides program leadership and is responsible for the quality and integrity of service delivery and client outcomes, financial accountability for program budget, hiring and supervision of program staff, contract oversight, and compliance with external and internal policies, practices, and procedures. The Program Manager actively supports and implements a strengths-based, trauma informed, culturally responsive and client-centered approach to working with youth. The Program Manager tasked with the supervision of ILP direct service staff including Case Managers, Housing Specialist/FUP Coordinator, and the Educational Support Specialist. This role is responsible for supporting the creation of a positive team culture that centers youth and family need while programming is developed, implemented, evaluated, and iterated upon.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Leadership

• In collaboration with the Regional Director and Agency leadership, develop and implement concrete plans and initiatives to support the Agency’s strategic and regional goals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key county and social service agency staff who contract for services and/or refer clients, and with community leaders to build collaborative partnerships that support Agency programs and community goals.
