CTE - Business/Technology Education Teacher


The position of a CTE - Business/Technology Education Teacher will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE:  Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and learning. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. To serve as a pioneer teacher at an innovative school specializing in leadership and management positions in the retail, hospitality, and tourism, and e-commerce industries. CAST Lead teachers will facilitate student learning through project-based learning, blended learning, work-based learning, and personalized learning. Teachers must be committed to student success and to the goal of transforming education. Teachers will work directly with industry partners and higher education partners to strengthen student learning opportunities; teach through hands-on, collaborative projects; teach students how to accept feedback; be confident presenters; and, be active problem-solvers in their communities.   

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
  3. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of student's assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education  Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  4. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
  5. Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities, design student collaborative groups, and appropriate career exploration experiences.
  6. Assist with and develop working relationships with multiple industry partners and higher education institutions.
  7. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in  Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  8. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
  9. Plan and assign work to the instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
  10. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  11. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal (i.e. summer bridge activities, project-based learning opportunities).
  12. Be a positive role model for students; support the mission of the school district.
  13. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  14. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook.
  15. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  16. Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  17. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
  18. Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
  19. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  20. Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  21. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  22. Comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to the occupational area(s) assigned.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned.
