The Banner Del Webb Ortho Medical Surgical PCU - 6C is seeking a passionate team player who exhibits Banner Health’s Core Values of putting our patients first! Is your passion helping people?  Do you enjoy being part of a unit that is built on teamwork?  If you answered yes, then our amazing team is looking for you!   We are a 21 bed orthopedic unit that also serves as a medical surgical overflow unit.  This unit serves several robust orthopedic practices and supports their patients after total joint replacements, spine surgeries and general trauma. We serve a diverse population of patients that need our help to feel better, as a part of our team you will make a difference in people's lives!

In this position you will utilize your knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to drive patient care and outcomes and enjoy opportunities to advance the profession, the unit, and your knowledge.  Our nurses have opportunities to represent the nursing profession through hospital-wide and unit-specific process improvement committees and shared leadership, and receive a tailored and robust onboarding experience with support from our RN Operational Support Specialist and facility educator. 

This is a part time night shift RN position working two 12-hour shifts per week. We utilize a self-schedule tool for shift and weekend coverage. We also offer an 18%-night shift differential, and an additional flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable. Apply to join our team today!

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
