We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support our Allianz Risk Consulting, Strategy & Planning team. This position will work remotely from Seattle, Washington, but must be willing to travel.
Your Team
Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures in the long term.
Whether it's hotel groups, restaurant groups, warehouse, or manufacturing, we are able to call on many years of specific business risk experience – creating tailor-made risk management services to respond to unique challenges.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the ARC Regional Manager – North America, this position will support the improvement of the performance of the Allianz Group Commercial business. Establish and deploy Allianz Group Standards (Functional Rules) for Loss Control/Risk Engineering & Consulting. Support OEs to develop and implement an appropriate local LCE setup and processes for all lines of business. Develop and implement global LCE toolbox in close co-operation with OEs and Group Centers. Support the Underwriting Governance Referral Desk and Group Underwriting Committee (GUC) office. Support knowledge transfer and capability building initiatives of the Global Property &Casualty Training Academy. Host and conduct Risk Engineering Training for P&C Academy (LCE01, 02 & 03). Through participation in Commercial Underwriting. Review, assess, and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of local LCE organizations in terms of resources, processes and tools and identify/support best practices for commercial business.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Global roll-out of a harmonized AZ Group Loss Control & Risk Engineering software solution “LC360” in all OEs of the AZ Group. The main tasks include:
- Project Management as a part of the Global Project Team
- System enhancements (operational business) and control
- Business Analytics and respective global and local configurations, developments & extensions of functionalities (e.g., Liability/Engineering forms incl. respective grading/scoring)
- Strong cooperation with external provider of the tool. Strong focus on control of global components and local extensions. Strong governance on global grading in co-operation with OEs and Group Centers.
- Provision of training
- Excellent understanding of Loss Control/Risk Engineering and related working processes
- Implementation/improvements of Allianz Group Standards for Loss Control/Risk Engineering (LCE)
- Drive and maintain the Global LCE Expert Community / Network
- Support knowledge transfer and capability
- Support OEs to develop and implement an appropriate local LCE setup and process
- Within this role the focus is not set on risk surveys of Allianz client's industrial premises
What You’ll Bring to the Role –
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent
- More than 5 years’ experience as a Loss Control/Risk Engineer for an Insurer (including risk management experience in the industrial sector) and related Client Risk Consulting
- Good understanding of international Loss Control and Risk Engineering Technical Standards and Regulations (e.g., NFPA). Good commercial/corporate insurance knowledge (e.g., Property, Liability, Engineering)
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), further languages will be seen as an advantage
- Knowledge in software as a Service (SaaS) applications and infrastructure as advantage
- Understanding of data model & databases; agile project management skills; basic programming skills preferred
