We partner with Carrell Clinic to manage all therapy operations. We are searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant that is seeking to join an organization that seeks to “Elevate the Experience" as we encounter each patient we serve. This career opportunity allows for a Physical Therapist Assistant to practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with the opportunity to treat a variety of surgical and non-operative patients. Exposure to a diverse caseload treating upper and lower extremity as well as spine patients. Therapist will administer treatment for patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability under the supervision of onsite Physical Therapist. We are looking for a PTA who enjoys working with active patients who are goal driven and ready to return to high level activities. At Carrell Clinic you will have the opportunity to work directly with our primary referral source, the Physicians at Carrell Clinic.  As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Carrell Clinic you will have the ability to collaborate with the physicians, their team, and seasoned therapists to provide the highest level of treatment in a spacious, well equipped therapy clinic.

Responsibilities

Summary Administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of and as assistant to Physical Therapist, by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Administers active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and heat, light, sound, water, and electrical modality treatments such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, and hot and cold packs.

 

Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.

 

Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities such as preambulation, transfer, ambulation, and daily living activities.

 

Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.

 

Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

 

Confers with members of physical therapy staff and other health team members, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.

 

Gives orientation to new Physical Therapist Assistants and directs and gives instruct
