Staff Data Scientist, Business - Sales & Customer Success

The Data Science and Engineering team works closely with our product, customer success, marketing, and sales teams; we help them ask questions the right way — and then find the answers. Our data informs us of the impact we are having on the world, and the Data team is crucial to architecting and building our data infrastructure. We design and use data analysis tools that increase our data’s scalability, accuracy, and accessibility. We proactively inform our company's goals and direction with data so that our product can help more teams do great things. We are looking for an experienced data scientist to partner with a variety of cross-functional business teams (Sales, Customer Success, Marketing & Operations) and R&D team. As a full-stack Data Scientist, you’ll build scalable, predictive capabilities that maximize Sales-led conversion and value.  You will lead cross-functional initiatives that decide how our customer-facing teams should operate.

What you'll achieve

• Build the foundation for how the business and data work together.  Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Operations to identify the most impactful business questions and develop technically rigorous solutions.  
• You’ll build models that will be core to Sales and Customer Success functions, such as leads scoring, identifying high value accounts, and recommending interventions for churn risk accounts. 
• Conduct deep dive analysis and design metrics that enhance our ability to diagnose the health of the Sales-led business. 
• Be a technical leader in the business data organization, shaping data science best practices and mentoring the team.  

About you

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in applying data science techniques to drive decision-making or develop technical applications. 
• Fluency in at least one modern language useful for statistics and/or data processing (e.g. Python, R, Scala) and proficiency with relational data modeling and SQL
• Deep expertise in statistical methods including regression, classification, clustering, and causal inference with observational data.
• You’re comfortable taking the lead in writing production-quality code in Python/Scala  and building your own data sets.
• Strong ability in translating ambiguous requests into concrete data science work and designing methodological approaches to meet business requirements. 
• Experience managing cross-functional projects end-to-end, communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences, and crafting compelling stories.
• Familiarity with SaaS business model and go-to-market motions.

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. 

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $202,000 - $316,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
