In this role, you will:
- Oversee the development of products for Huggies Baby Wipes for Development & Commercialization (D&C) IMF programs. This role encompasses both the innovation of new products and the renovation of existing ones. The Lead Scientist will collaborate with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Materials, Global Wipes Product Stewardship (base sheet & formulation), Marketing, Quality and Manufacturing, to drive product activities for projects. Reporting to an R&E Manager, the incumbent will receive work direction from the Manager, Technical Leader, Senior Product Developer and Project Leader.
- Identify and commercialize product renovation/innovation aligned to meet consumer and business needs within the Huggies Wipes business.
- Seek and understand competitive technologies and innovation.
- Provide leadership within a team environment to drive innovation from initial product prototype, along with the creation of BVs and claims from pilot-scale demonstration through commercial launch.
- Collaborate broadly inside the organization with R&D, pilot plant, mill operations, and cross-functional disciplines.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to other members of the Huggies Baby Wipes Product and Projects team.
- Works closely with the Marketing, I&A, PCS, Materials, Product Stewardship and Engineering teams among others, to achieve project goals.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or advanced engineering or relevant scientific discipline degree.
- A minimum of 3+ years relevant product and/or engineering experience in a variety of assignments.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues in a business environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in product and/or material development of consumer products, design of experiments, and data analysis.
- Experience with specification management, design management, PLM, lab vantage and other systems for product development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or to lead small teams to complete assignments and related activities in an acceptable manner.
- Displayed strength of building relationships and build trust characteristics when working cross functionally.
- Desire and awareness to seek and understand competitive technologies and innovation.
