This position requires a valid Class E driver license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Department's Drivers Record Requirements Policy. An unacceptable driving record is defined as any of the following:
1. three (3) or more moving violations in the past 3 years that accumulate 3 or more points per violation;
2. any 2 convictions of reckless driving in the past 3 years;
3. a suspension or revocation of the driver license for moving violations in the past 3 years; and
4. a suspension or revocation for refusal to take a sobriety test, or any suspension or revocation for a DUI conviction in the past 4 years

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Performs and serves as a Construction Manager for the Operations Center in support of highway and bridge construction program. Supervises subordinates administering consultant and construction contracts, final estimates preparation, and materials coordination. Ensures all work is completed in compliance with the established procedures for each discipline. Advises staff with regard to all aspects of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) construction contract administration matters. Supervises employees by communicating regularly, motivating, training, evaluating, planning, and directing employee's work. Participates in, and conducts interviews for, hiring and promoting subordinate employees. Drives to project sites and makes field reviews.
Oversees the administration and scheduling of all general assign and hybrid construction contracts and assigned staff that will be needed on in-house projects. Attends pre-construction conference meetings. Participates in the review and selection of Consultant Construction Engineering and Inspection firms.
