Position Summary:
The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for developing, validating, and employing LC/MS based proteomics approaches to analyze biological samples to support research, non-clinical, and clinical development programs for a variety of therapeutic indications. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and is willing to work in a fast-paced work environment. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform LC-MS-based proteomics experiments and optimize experimental protocols, sample preparation, and instrument parameters to ensure high-quality data generation
- Prepare biological samples (tissues, cells, biofluids) for LC-MS analysis, including protein extraction, digestion, sample clean-up and using various enrichment techniques (e.g., immunoprecipitation) to enhance detection sensitivity.
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art LC-MS systems and associated software (Proteome Discoverer, Biopharma Finder, FragPipe, Skyline, etc).
- Generate reports and present results to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, including biologists, bioinformaticians, and statisticians.
- Assist training of lab personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline with 5+ years industry experience; or a Master’s degree in relevant scientific discipline with 3+ years of industry experience.
- Experience in LC-MS based proteomics is required.
- Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in proteomics sample preparation techniques such as immuno-protein/peptide enrichment and LC-MS based method development and data processing for protein characterization and quantification applications.
- Extensive experience in protein isolation and purification from complex biological samples, such as cells, tissues, and biofluids.
- Experience in using XCalibur, Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, or BioPharma software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to conduct multiple laboratory and project tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both Orbitrap LC-MS and Triple Quadrupole LC-MS is preferred.
- Experience in targeted proteomics is preferred.
- Experience in proteomics assay development/validation is preferred.
